Shortcut icons corrupted after computer locked up

Hello,

All my shortcut icons from my startup menu are now fuzzy (though they still work) after my computer locked up when using my cd-rom drive to load some entertainment software.

I tried to restore my compute by using Adaptec to go to a safe point but after I restored the system the shortcuts still appear fuzzy.

How can I restore my desktop?

are only the icons fuzzy or is it more then that? it could be a monitor or video card prob

Only the short cut icons are corrupted. They still function.

How can I reset my desktop?

I have Windows ME.
