Shortcut icon without the little arrow 1

hello everyone,

I keep a bunch of icons on my desktop and I'd like to make it look a bit better. I've found/created a bunch of icons that look great - except for that little arrow that appears in the bottom left hand side.

I know it's to let users know it's a shortcut - but these are just for my use. Is there any way to get rid of the little arrow?

TweakUI will do this for you, it is very easy to use aswell.
