Hello, we have a CICS 4.1 and callpilot 100 r3.1.

I have currently programmed the system to forward all incoming calls to the auto-attendant during the night. However, each phone that has a line appearance for the line will ring shortly before it is fowarded.

I am using the system in my house, so the short ringing in the middle of the night is less than desired. Can we change any programming to prevent this?

Thanks in advance!

I believe you can do so by forwarding the extension in the voice mail menu of that phone and will go to that mail box. F984 however it will go to general delivery if more than one phone is forwarded that has the ring and is forwarded.

Ring services add extension to the already ringing phones.
Put your system in night mode during the day with phones that you want to ring and day mode put the aa to ring only.

If the line is set to ring on a phone then it will ring. The reason is it takes the AA about a 1/2 ring before it answers the call so all phones that have that line will ring. There maybe a couple of things to try.
1) If your using 3 digit extensions then try setting the lines in a Hunt Group and assign the Hunt Group to the phones instead of lines. You would have to also put the lines in a Pool for calling out.
2) As stated above either Call Forward the phones or put them in Do Not Disturb.
I'm sure someone here has other solutions to try. It's a good source for information. Good Luck

It's normal because the line are appear and ring on all the phone and when the night service is active you will hear a small ring

They is different option that can be done but for now

Your best option is to create two services one for the day and one for night

You can put it automatic or Manuel on the primary phone

In the day services program all the phones you want to ring

For the night service only program the voice mail number that you will find in the feature 985 #
Or only the phone that has a mail box

You should be good whit that

IF YOU DO A FORWARD TO VM IT WILL DO THE SAME THING THEY WILL BE A SMALL LIKE BEFORE

It's in a house do they need AA at night. If a business I can see your point.

yes! that is a good question

But if he does not need the AA and has only a mailbox on a phone the forward will do the same thing as wright now because all the lines are at appear and ring on all the phones

that is why i gave some option

do you have caller id ?

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will try some of them and let you know if it works out.

We use the auto-attendant because others in the house receive calls late at night and yes we do have caller id.

If you have caller ID you need to let the phones ring 2 times because the caller ID spill comes in between the 1st and 2nd ring. fcantin1 has the best solution. Make lines apear only on any phone that you do not want to ring at night. Change lunch mode name to "DAY" and put these phones day mode and leave the rest in night mode. Then switch between these modes.
