In case anyone else out there was looking for a book to brush up or self-study for CompTIA's 2006 A+ Essentials exam here is a quick review of Course Technology's "CompTIA A+ Certification Essentials" book.
I can sum it up in one word "JUNK!"
I have not had the book for more than 5 hours and felt the need to post. First off I did a quick flip through the book and found about 30 pages of the book (soft cover spiral binder) to be in reverse order and upside down.
Within the first 3 chapters I have already found numerous errors. (Examples include stating win2k cant handle smart cards, has no application compatibility toolkits, has no Network Setup Wizard.)
The questions at the end of the chapter so far have been barely relevant to the information given in the chapter and assumes extensive classroom discussion.
I am really hoping as I read further the book gets better but right now im feeling like I just set 70 bucks on fire... well worse at least then I'd get to burn something.
Anyone else have this book and feel the same?
