Legend R7 with 2 pri's. Site lost power over the weekend, so system was nop powered up/down correctly. Since then people will complain that they get a recording "all circuits are busy" Corp is in WI and site is in IL. Lec(sbc) FINALLY found that there was a short on the first channel of the PRI. They busied out and seems to be working fine. Programming all checks out, next step is to have site power cycle system... Then bypass the external csu (adtran t1 csu ace)

Is there anything else I am missing? Just thought, could lec have changed switch types??

HELP!

Does the PRI happen to be the first trunks in the system (lines 801-823)?

I'm not really sure what it is your asking. Is SBC saying the shorted b-channel is your problem? If so, if you do a status on the channel to make sure that it's not in maintenance busy? Since the pipe itself is working, I doubt the problem is with the csu. Did you do a 'graceful' shutdown and power up or reset the system after the power failure?

I checked all PRI channels, nothing is in maint busy. Yes the 2 pri's are teh only trunks in the system, the pri with the problem is trunk 801-823...

There is a known problem with trunk 801 as a PRI it will eventually lock up as yours has. It was fixed in R7 V10 (I think) You should try to get your hands on an R7V14.2

Do an intercom *05 and let us know what version you have.

It is a problem that could happen At any time. I had a system in for 2 years then BAM it happened. there is not any kind of consistiency to it.

In the mean time if the provider busies out the first channel you will be fine.

merlinman (on this board) could probably shed more light on the issue. he's the man

Thanks for all of the input to this issue. I am the customer in WI which telecomtekperson referred to.. Excuse my ignorance of PRI provisioning, but if SBC states that they busied out the first channel on my PRI, does this translate to the first B channel (Trk#801) as I suspect, or does it correlate to the last channel (Trk #823)?
I never really understood all of the in's / out's of LEC = ascending / CUSTOMER = decending..
