Hey everyone,
quick question. I have a customer that is wanting to be able to call in and turn their forward unconditional on or off for their extension from an outside landline. I havent been able to figure out how to do this. they have a v2 R7 with embedded voicemail.

Oh yeah, another thing when their Auto Attendant times out, it calls the main huntgroup, but they are wanting to have it go straight to the hunt groups mail box...

Any ideas on these?

Not with Embedded, VMPro or use Twinning but only if you have ISDN or SIP trunks.

Bas.. I didnt think there was a way to do this with embedded, but I was hoping. they wouldnt come up with the money for vmpro. they don't want to use twinning either. they want to if the weather is bad, be able to call in and then turn the forwarding on.

Any ideas on being able to have the AA time out to the hunt group voice mail and not call the members of the hunt group first. Or is there even a way to be able to have a prompt in the AA go straight to huntgroup voicemail.

Vpn connection and phonemanager is the only option i would guess. You might have luck with an AA and pointing to a user that has a fwd unconditional to a night service shortcode of a huntgroup.

Embedded AA will timeout to the fallback destination in the ICR, which can be a huntgroup, user, whatever.

To make a direct to voicemail code in an embedded AA, create a direct to vm shortcode #XXX/VoicemailCollect/#N, (where XXX represents the length of your extension range), and in the transfer in the AA, put it to #ExtnNumber (ie #200). It will give you a "soft" error saying it cannot find a user, but its fine.

Embedded is lame.

I will try what you suggested this morning. and yes I fully agree Embedded is lame. I try to avoid selling any system with embedded, but alas I have an old timer who happens to be part owner of the company, that has no problems selling it to get the quick sell.
