Dear All...

I have connected 24 Nortel1120E phones with IPO500 R8.1 and all of them working fine except one. The issue is that, the short codes are working very slowly in 1120E phones. To pick up the calls in a hunt group, i made a short code "06". when pressing "06" it is taking around 5 seconds to connect the call. could any one can help me to solve this issue?

You should play with dial delay time and count settings.
They are not correct.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Dear tlpeter,

in the same network, there are Avaya 1608 and 1616 phones and they are working fine. should i do some configuration in separate user vise or is there any separate configuration only for SIP? since the 1120E phones are SIP. Please guide..

They need to press dial/done, those phones work as SIP phones so don't dial as the keys are pressed as the others you mentioned do, hence the delay :)

Dear amriddle01,

Thank you for your swift replay..!

So; regarding your suggestion, i have to press the short code first and press the dial tone. Am i correct? otherwise please clarify..!

You can add those codes to the 11xxdialplan.txt file also. When a match is seen it will send the call immediately.

Dear All,

Can anybody help me solve this issue? please guide me how to add the dial plan in 11xxdialplan.txt file.

A quick search brings up this previous info:

you might also want to test the cable and patch cords of the phone because if that is no good you get erratic behaviour as well.

Give a tech a solution and he will be back tomorrow to ask you the next question, teach a tech how to read the manual and he will be able to solve the problems for a life time.

I have tested it again. The thing is that; when after take the handset then dial to the other extensions or pressing the short codes, it is taking around 5 seconds to connect the call. Otherwise Press the "send" Button on the phone, so calls will connect same time. But when dial the extension number or short codes then take the hand set or press the Speaker button, it is working normally (calls will connect same time). I got some information that to use the dialing plan(11xxdialplan.txt). actually i don't know how to make a dialing plan for UAE and how to implement it. I checked in IPOffice's SD card totally, but there is no file by the name "11xxdialplan.txt". Please help me to solve this issue..

That's exactly how those handsets work in SIP mode, they do not work as they did on the Nortel as the firmware was changed to make them work on IP Office. As for the .txt file you have been told you need to add it, it isn't there by default. Nobody is going to explain every single step of how to do this in detail to you as it will take ages, and at the end of the day it's what you are being paid to do so you need to work it out :)

Second url holdmusic put in... I copied/pasted the whole paragraph and adjusted for my own extension and ARS dial plan. Added the common SC the users need. Only weird thing is my VM xfer SC (#XXXX) needed to be near the top to work, when I put it at the end it didnt dial right away.

Plus you need to dial on dial tone since sip is en bloc signaling.

Amriddle expertise is exactly right, with Unistim 11xx and 12xx phones the connection time is immediate, but on the SIP platform, the .txt file controls the time it takes from when you dial the number till when the actual system sends the signal out, hence you can press the SEND button for immediate dialing. This is true for the 11xx/12xx not only on IP Office, but with SIP firmware Nortel phones operating on any system such as CS2100, CS1000, and third party call servers.

I suggest you read this blog from Michael Mcnamara.
