Short Code for recording Name Greeting doesn't work.

I have a customer who is trying to record their name using the short code *88. When she dials the *88 number, it pauses then goes back to dial tone. This happens system wide, it affects all the phones. No voice prompt to tell them to record name.

I checked the short code column, *88 shows as: *88, Feature= Voicemail Collect, Telephone Number= *RecordName*, Line Group ID= 0, Locale= (blank).

User rights for this particular extension is "Working hours User Rights". Could there be something in the user rights that needs set up?

This is on a IP 500 version 4.2, Manager 6.2.

Any ideas?

Thats because you can only record your name through your voicemail box, not through that shortcoe you set up. If they have voicemail pro, have the user hit option 5 when they like in to their voicemail (it wont be an announced option, just press 5). If its embedded voicemail, tell them to hit *05 when they log in to their mail box.
 
Create a shortcode:
VM Pro and Embedded VM Intuity mode
SC = *88
TN = ?UDE<PIN>55

Embedded IP Office mode
SC = *88
TN = ?UD<PIN>*05
Were <PIN> is the users PIN code like 1234

VM Pro IP Office mode
Not possible

In VM Pro ( any mode ) you can create a module just to do that were the VM Pro asks for a phone number to record the name of and after recording you can go back to the start point and enter another phone number.

If you delete the recorded names then if a user acess his/her mailbox they have to record the name first before accessing the mailbox, this is not the case for VM Pro in IP Office mode.
