Need to connect ShoreTel T-1 switch to Dialogic DMG which then routes to GoldFax server for inbound/outbound faxing. T-1 switch has error messages indicating D channel Down, loss of signal, framing errror. GoldFax server shows similar messages.

Has anyone successfully connected ShoreTel to GoldFax? Any suggestions without using SIP trunks?

Sounds like the d-channel signaling is not matched up. How is the Shoretel side set? Do you know how the DMG card is configured?

Oh, and I forgot. Did you try a T1 crossover cable as well? I had to do that when connecting a Shoretel T1 port to another systems T1 port.

ShoreTel side is ISDN Network, NI-2, Clock Source=Master, ESF and B8ZS. The DMG is set up the same except for clock source which is Slave. The DMG is a Dialogic 2030 box instead of a card inside the fax server, if that helps.

Yes, we've tried both a cross over and straight through, neither one changed the status.

My sys admin connected to the T-1 switch and tried to force the D channel up and that didn't work either.

Strange, sounds like everything is in place. You can try a loopback on each end to see if it comes up that way, just to test the equipment.

You might try changing the Shoretel side the ISDN user, but leave the clock source as master and see what happens. Sorry I don't have specific answers.

Thanks for the suggestion. We've tried changing protocol options - nothing seems changes. We'll try the loopback & see what happens.
