Hi,

Just a question about Communicator and the way outlokk will crash...

Here's what we have:

Outlook 2010, Shoretel 13.3 build 18.61.2202.0

SO when switching from primary phone to softphone/mobile there is no issue as soon as you switch back outlook will always crash.

Any ideas anyone? Want to roll communicator out but am holding off till I understand what is happening with outlook. Don't want the whole company complaining....

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

Mikey, Can't assist because we are currently Groupwise and will be migrating to Outlook/Exchange later this year, However if you want to push PCM to all your users, you could temporarily disallow softphones on your users groups until you resolve the issue. That what the users benefit from PCM, but just won't have softphones for now.

Have you contacted your VAR on this issue?

When it crashes, look under your processes and see how many instances of Agent.exe or Outlook.exe are running...

only one instance of outlook running

Found the answer in the end..

To fix this you need to add the path variable C:\Program Files (x86)\Shoreline Communications\ShoreWare Client1. Right click on my computer and select properties
2. Select Advanced system settings
3. Select advanced tab and then select the Environmental Variables button
4. Select Path in the system Variables window and select edit
5. Go to end of Path and add ; C:\Program Files (x86)\Shoreline Communications\ShoreWare Client6. Reboot PC then when up type Path and confirm added to the path then retest Communicator

Mieky - We are migrating to Outlook from Novell in November, Where did you add the path variable? in case I run into this issue.

Also read there is a bug with the communicator on build 13.3, I had an issue with it doing it on mine. I went to a previous build and issue went away. When system was updated to newer build I updated communicator to that build level and no more issues.
