How can you remove the Shift to answer key on a 3903

You could try this:

LD 11 – Assign Automatic Line Selection for each Meridian 1 proprietary telephone.
Feature operation
No specific operating procedures are required to use this feature.
Prompt Response Description
REQ: CHG Change existing data.
TYPE: aaaa Telephone type, where:
aaaa = SL1, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2016, 2018, 2112, 2216,
2317, 2616, or 3000.

For Option 11C.
CLS (IRD) IRA(Deny) allow incoming ringing line preference.
(NID) NIA (Deny) allow incoming non-ringing line preference.
(OLD) OLA (Deny) allow outgoing line preference.


LPK xx Specify the last key to be scanned for line preference (such as 0-7, 10-17, 20-27).
Prompted only if CLS = IRA, NIA, or OLA.
Note: A value of 0 (zero) for LPK disables this feature.

Not sure on what you are looking to do here? Remove the key completely from the telephone, or answer the KEY2/3 without using the shift key?

you cant remove the the physical key, but if you are trying to create a shortcut so you dont have to hit the shift key to get to the page where the ringing line is, IRA I think would be the feature to go with.

Okay but It's showing this and im trying to disable it

you cant disable the shift key. if you could, you would have no way of accessing anything you put on keys 6-11. unless you changed IRA in CLS. If you made any of the changes listed above, just change it back to what is in the parenthesis. That is the default value.

When you get the shif to answer, it is because the DN that is ringing is on keys 0 or 1. Pistol Pete is in the shift stae looking at keys 2 and 3, so when the phone rings on key 0 or 1, it is telling Pete to hit the shift key to access the ringing line. There is no wat to remove the shift to answer though. All I can think of is put another appearance of the same DN as key 0, on to key 2 or 3. That is if you have those keys free.
