hello - bit of a silly question really, but still need to ask it. A user wants to be able to print using the Shift PrintScrn combo. When they do this, it just copies the screen to the clipboard, waiting to paste somewhere. It used to work OK, but they were using Win95, and are now using WinXP. any ideas??

These are all of the key board short cuts.

Not quite all the keyboard shortcuts:

Not sure which of the early OS's support these, but I know Win 98+ uses these Windows-Key shortcuts:
-------------------
Windows+M - Minimizes all open windows
Windows+Shift+M - Maximizes all open windows
Windows+E - Opens Windows Explorer
Windows+R - Opens Run dialog box
Windows+Tab - Moves through application programs in the taskbar (kinda useless)
Windows+F - Opens Find Files
Windows+Ctrl+F - Opens Find Files on Network
Windows+Pause/Break - Opens System Properties (same as right-clicking on My Computer)
-------------------

I know this is isn't what you want, but these should prove helpful to someone that doesn't know them!

Far as I know you cannot use the print screen button to print directly from any version of Windows, possibly your user was using a DOS prograsm running under Windows? Print Screen copies the whole screen to the clipboard, Alt + Print Screen copies the active window All things are possible except skiing through a revolving door.

have them do that and open word and paste to word, then print the screen from within word

If you just press the "print screen" key it will copy it to the clipboard as grygst76 said. Shift is not necessary as far as I know. Open word pad, right click and paste. You can print it from there.

If you press "ALT PrintScreen" only the active window is copied to the clipboard. Rob
Just my $.02.
