Shell Function using a variable for the path

Hi There --

I am using the Shell Function to open a file in Excel from an Access database, but I would like to be able to create a module that I can send the path to and have that path be set to a variable that could then be used in Shell function. Does this make sense? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Why can't you just use:

Shell(strPathName, vbNormalFocus)

where strPathName is your variable holding the path?

If you set up a function in a module to do this for you it seems as though you would just be making a new way to call Shell using basically the same arguments.
