hai all,

i have SHARK storage in my envi..and
how do i know what boxes are using shark disks ,
i mean if we are in server1 putty , is there any commands
to know about the shark disks are in this server1
i know one command to query device

--> powerpath query devices

so is there any other commands ..

thank you

powerpath is for EMC storage servers

For ESS (Shark) or DS8000 and DS6000, I'd try
[tt]datapath query device[/tt]
or
[tt]pcmpath query device[/tt]

It all depends on whether you have SDD or AIX MPIO with SDDPCM installed.
If neither of those, it is probably AIX MPIO with AIXPCM, so the native AIX commands would give you some more info.
[tt]lsdev -Ccdisk
lsdev -l [diskname]
lscfg -l [diskname]
lspath[/tt]

I'd check your man pages or other documentation for all these commands.

SDD=Subsystem Device Driver
MPIO=Multi Path Input Output
PCM=Path Control Module

HTH,

thank you so much p5..

if u don't mind can u send me any documentation regarding this type of issue or ESS ..if so i am so gladful..

search for "ess sdd sddpcm"
or better search for "ess +sdd +sddpcm"

hits: documentation, redbooks, interoperability matrix

or google for the same keywords.
