I am using Macromedia Dreamweaver MX. When modifying web pages on our server I often receive the following error message: A sharing violation occurred while accessing... it references the directory and file I am modifying. After a while it saves no problem. Why does this happen? It is quite annoying. Thanks.

Disable the checkin/out option in the site definition of your remote server.

I have the same problem.. and so does my entire team.. occassionally it will say it .. if we wait it somehow resolves and I can save again.

We do not have sites set up... but even when I do.. that is not the fix.

Interestingly.. if I open the same file in CF studio.. or Notpad.. it saves without a problem... so it is DW locking us out... any further ideas?

Please let us know.
