Sharing problems on a network?

I have 2 laptops & 1 desktop sharing an internet connection via a wireless router. All seems to work fine except....

I have set up small network & can share files bewteen both laptops. The problem is with the desktop. It can access the shared folders on both laptops, but they cannot see the shared folders on the desktop.
Worse still, they cannot access the printer connected to the desktop. (Yes it's set to share). When I try to add the printer & browse for it, the laptops see it but say it is 'access denied'. If I continue, it asks for a password to connect to the desktop. I have never set up any password protection for the desktop.

Anybody know what I could try to get this resolved??

ps The XP firewall is set to allow file & printer sharing.
ps All machines running WinXP SP2.

The security is on by default.. Are all the machines in the same workgroup?
