The problem:
I am working for a school district that is phasing out Macs and does not support internet access for them. The internet access that is provided to the school is delivered through Novell BorderManager and Client Trust - - software available and supported for WindowsPCs only.
The proposed solution:
I could set up a proxy server on a single WindowsPC that has internet access and share that connection with the Macs (2-4 of them).
The request:
Can anyone recommend a good proxy server (preferably free) to run on a PC that requires some sort of authentication so that everyone in the world cannot use this WindowPC access point? I believe that the access point uses Win98.
Are there any other ideas to provide internet access for the Macs?
