Created a database that will reside on a common newtork drive for about 20 employees to use. They will access the dirve through an intranet link. Set it up to Share--TOOLS, OPTIONS, ADVANCED, SHARED box is checked. Problem: Only one person can be in it at a time. If it is open and someone else tries to open it they can't. What am I missing?
Thanks

You will have to split your database into two (Use database splitter - Tools/Database Utilities/Database Splitter - then put the DB containing the data on the server and a copy of the db containing the forms, queries etc onto EACH desktop. Then link each desktop DB to the data DB via the Tools/Database Utilities/Linked Table Manager.

I'm not necessarily sure you have to split the database to let it be shared. In fact, doing this siginificantly slowed ours down to where we longer have it split. Check to see that the 'default open mode' is set to 'shared' under tools, options, advance tab.
