Hello,

could you please describe the error you get in a bit more detail, that way it will be easier to pin-point what kind of authentication error you get and where it resides.

Regards,
Thomas

Thanks for your help..I explain you the situation:I have create My portal and I have create a site,I have uploaded documents, images,I have added users to site,I have managed the alerts..so,I'm studying Sharepoint features..I want create My Site but if I click on My Site link I receive this message:"The security validation for this page has timed out. Click Back in your Web browser, refresh the page, and try your operation again."
This occurs when I enter with administrator account..I've create another user with member rights and when I try to create My Site I have another situation:the portal tries to create the site but it fails..
What do you think?
I hope I've explained well my problems..

Hello,

Have you checked the settings on your IIS? What kind of authentication you have set there. Since you are an Administrator of the portal you should be able to create My Site. Have you tried and to add your own domain account (Domain\username) with admin rights and try to create My site.

Regards,
Thomas

Thanks for your interest Thomas! I think that the problems isn't IIS because I have checked its settings but I have read on a book on Sharepoint that my architecture is a small server farm (I have a computer with Sharepoint and another with the database)and I have MSDE on db..I think to install SQL server 2000 and remove MSDE..I will inform you on the future situation!
Regards,
mizzi

That sounds like a good way. Might be the connection to the database that is not working properly, first you get the time out error and when trying with another user it fails.
