SharePoint / Project Reporting

Can the tasks created in a SharePoint workspace or meeting space be tied to MS Project for reporting and workflow tracking?

That's probably a very broad question, but we just began looking at a SharePoint soluton, and the first major question is how to get status reports from a SharePoint workspace.

Really? I thought one of the big selling points was the interface between sharepoint and project. I'm looking to set some PM standards for my organization and the use of a sharepoint/project website would be at the core of my project communication plan.

If anyone knows where I can find more info, please let me know.
