Hi all,

I first installed Windows Sharepoint Services on a Win2003 Enterprise Server and SQL Server 2000 SP3. Everything installed without any problem, and all pages were accesible. Then I Installed Sharepoint Portal Server, and after the installation, there's nothing left that works. I'm unable to connect to the Sharepoint Central Administration Page. Does anyone has/ had the same problems?

regards,

bambih

Use this order:

1. Windows 2003 Server
2. SQL 2000 + SP3
3. Sharepoint (WSS included)

If you have no network connection (stand-alone server) you may have problems with the installation of SPS 2003. For me SPS was conplaining not being able to connection to the database while creating a portal (at 52%). I uninstalled SPS and WSS, added a Microsoft Loop-Back Adapter (Control Panel, Add Hardware, added myself, Microsoft, Loop-Back Adapter) and reinstalled Sharepoint 2003.

I also had this problem there are 2 solutions W2k3 installs
Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration by default. This stops you getting to the site. You can add your sharepoint server to trusted sites in IE or just remove the Security configuration component in Control panel Windows components
hopefully its that simple

Regards
Mike
