Please Help!!!
The Contact Notes field in Outlook 07 supports rich text. I can paste stuff into an Outlook contact note field that I’ve copied in from various sources… including web pages (i.e. formatted tables of info with embedded pics, etc), and the formatting will remain intact.
It appears however, that the contacts notes field in Sharepoint DOESN’T support rich text.
So, if I’ve added a contact with rich text notes to an Outlook contact list that’s shared via Sharepoint, it looks fine when I save it, but once that record syncs with Sharepoint, the notes are converted to plain text and I lose all the formatting.
What’s interesting is that if I “share” a regular Outlook contact list with another Outlook user (not using Sharepoint), the formatting IS retained, and the other user accessing my contacts CAN see the rich text notes just fine. However, the problem with just sharing my contact list (using the sharing feature inside Outlook) is that my other users cannot synchronize these contacts, and thereby maintain a local copy of these contacts on their own computer. Also, it’s quite slow for others to open these contact records given the amount of rich text and imbedded pics, etc.
Is there a way, any way??? to allow, or turn on, or activate Rich Text formatting in the Contact Notes field in a Sharepoint contact list?
Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
