Hi. I have installed SharePoint 3.0 on a server running WSUS 2 SP1.

The error I'm getting now is ID 506, the SelfUpdate Tree is not working. The WSUS Selfupdate listens on 127.0.0.1:80, which is the port taken over by Sharepoint.

I followed instructions after I googled out "If you have installed Windows SharePoint Services on the default Web site in IIS, configure it to not interfere with Self-update" , but there is no option to exclude paths (only include paths) in SharePoint 3.0

I also ran stsadm -o deletepath -url and received "the managed path you specified does not exist."

Would anybody know the remedy to the problem?

The correct command to exclude the path is:

stsadm -o addpath -url -type exclusion

The response to the command: Exclusions are not longer necessary. Etc.

I also tried to re-install WSUS2.0. The error re-appears. I'm giving up. I will install WSUS on another server, move the WSUS directory, and attach the old database.
