Dear all,

Unfortunately, I always have problem with share variable.
can somebody really help me to understand it.

I have a report with sub report.
I am trying to not use shared variable in my formula.
so...the idea is if I have same value from main report link to sub report, I put flag as YES if not is NO.

but now, since I have to use publication, publication only detect all formula from main report instead of sub report.

that means I have to pull formula from sub report to main report.

I only need same formula from sub report.
I think I should use share variable, any suggest?
correct me if I am wrong with any of my statement.
thank you

rgds,
LN

What is the content of your flag formula in the subreport?
What fields are you grouping on in the main report? In what report section is the subreport placed? On what field(s) is it linked to the main report?

Dear Ibass,

I just figure it out by using SHARED STRINGVAR
but the problem now is..
my result in main report jump to second row.
It means 1st row doesn't give any value and it makes all result jump to one row..any idea why it's happen?

thanks

Yes, you have the sub in the wrong section. The sub must be in a section above the one where you reference the shared variable in the main report. So if your sub is in GH1a, the shared variable must be in GH1b, for example. You can insert a new section, and then format the "a" section to "underlay following section" if you want them aligned.
