Shared Variable set in subreport displayed on main, but not showing on 1

I have set a shared variable in a subreport. the vaiable is set while processing the records of the sub. I can also display it in the group footer of the sub and then want to display the value again on the main report. It does work except on the first page of the main report. I have tried setting the evaluation times, etc. Can't get a handle on this behavior?

Hello,
Make sure the subreport is physically placed in a location higher than where you wish the shared variable to display.. for example.. if the shared variable were to display in the report header, you should have the subreport placed in a subsection of the report header (a) and the shared variable placed in a subsection beneath it (b). It sounds like an evaluation time issue if it isn't showing on the first page..

Thankyou, I accually discovered this reading an answer to another question in this area. Your answer was RIGHT on! I inserted another section below the section containing the subreport and the vari displays correctly. Thanks again!
