Can anyone tell me why the Scheduled Tasks are shared? From a W2K PC, if you go to another W2K PC, you will always see the Printers folder, which is fine because Printer and File sharing is normally on, by why the Scheduled Tasks? And how can you turn if off if wanted?

Open the registry editor.

Go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RemoteComputer\NameSpace

Export this key (in order to back it up, just in case) and then delete the key called

{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF} (Task Scheduler).

Close the registry.

It actually is for the convenience of the Administrator. You can create and easily distribute a Scheduled Task (say, a backup of the local workstation filestore) from a central location by writing to the Task Scheduler on each remote machine.
