Hi,

We are planning to migrate from Groupwise 6 over to MS Exchange 2007/8, within Groupwise we have shared mailboxes (resources) which are accessed using proxy.

Before any rollout we need to plan this, so my question is how do we handle shared mail boxes from GroupWise to Outlook?

Hope someone can help.

Thanks,

NRG

How are you doing the migration? You're almost certainly going to need to recreate any permissions.

We will be using Quest to migrate the boxes over, Does Outlook have a shared mailbox feature?

Thanks,

NRGB

There are ways of doing things in Outlook. You can tie a mailbox to one account, and grant access to other accounts in a number of ways. You can also move the mailbox into Public Folders, but I'd recommend against that.

moving the mailbox into Public Folder is a no go, just found out we will be using Exchange 2003, if it makes any difference?

The client will be Outlook 2007/8, will accessing shared mailboxes be as easy as they are in Groupwise with the ame security?

Normally what we've done in the past is just setup a mailbox with one user as the "owner" then setup send of behalf permissions for the other shared users.
