Hey all,
I'm trying to get an exchange calendar that we use to schedule people for training classes into my companyweb (sharepoint) site. I would like all 10 of my employees to see this calendar when they log in.

For example. My company's product is training classes. I schedule 3 employees to teach this training class. I would like to add an event to a shared calendar. Lets call it "courses" and invite the instructors that i would like to teach it as attendees.

I would then like to have this calendar visable in the companyweb so any employee can log onto the company web and look at the calendar and choose an event to see who has been invited.

Anyone know the best way to accomplish this? I would really like this to be driven through outlook and not a team calendar in sharepoint.

Using SBS2011 standard and exchange and sharepoint are all working without issue right now.

Thanks in advance.

Why don't you have the trainers "connect" the SharePoint calendar to their Outlook and manage it from within Outlook? Are you familiar with how to do that?

That would be way easier than trying to do the opposite, and it would still be "driven" via Outlook.

The issue is most of these trainers are not using outlook but exchange active sync from their smartphones or just going to webmail or the sharepoint site through IE. the trainers are for the most part remote workers without vpn connections.

I fooled around with your suggestion the other day basically if the person creating the event connects the sharepoint calendar to their outlook they could then create an event in their calendar with attendees. they can then drag that appt into the sharepoint calendar in outlook. this means that all trainers would receive a meeting request on their smartphone and if they are browsing the sharepoint site they can look at the calendar and see themselves as invited attendees.

It could work this way i'll have to do some more testing. I dont understand why i can't just have a shared exchange calendar show up on sharepoint. i mean this is SBS its all running on the same box.

Thanks for the pointer I'll advise how i make out.

Good day
