I am running a Windows 2K machine that has a ethernet attached DSL modem. I have it shared for the rest of the computers at my house. I was using only one NIC in my host pc, but the other computers (clients) on my LAN can hardly get onto the inet. It is really slow connecting and often displays "Page Not Found". When clients do start downloaded, they get good speed (+100kb/sec), but they can only get to web pages 1:5 times. Host PC gets on inet fine.

I put in a second NIC in the host, and used a cross-over to connect to DSL modem. Changed my sharing, but same issue.

Hi,
I am having the same issue with a similiar setup on XP pro however.

Hi Bcastner, I should explain more,
I am using a DSL modem connected to my PC through USB2 Connection, the other PC is also running XP pro and connected to the ICS PC with a crossover cable.
I followed the guide(and found it great) but the net slows considerably when sharing is enabled.
Without sharing enabled I got 450+kbs i havent got a figure with sharing enabled though.

For mine, my Host pc does not slow at all. The clients simply can't connect. Once connected they get 50+kb/sec. I am not using any ipsec or filtering.
