Hello everyone,

Does anyone have any tutorials or help on what im looking for...

I would like to set up a centralized resource for bookings (possibly a public folder with a shared calendar..). This resource will be available to everyone and if they would like to request a booking on a free slot, they must request the booking and the booking requests must be sent to a certain individual.

Any ideas?

Thanks

You can use the public folders for this...

mybe Everyone should have read and add only while the main person has full rights to edit and move arround.

Thanks,

I currently set it up that way.

I wish there was a permission to allow everyone to create meeting requests and not create appointments in the calendar. If I give everyone create permissions they can just book whatever they want without going through administration.

Thanks

Well, one way to do it maybe use prebuild form and have users email to 'mail enabled' public folder...then have admin do the entry into calendar. This way everyone can read/see their requests in form of email they sent....use the 1st-come-1st served based of this email.
On the negative side you admin has to do the entry....just a thought, not sure how feasible is for your process.
All the best!

Thanks a lot

One odd thing that I noticed

When I try to open a shared calendar and select "Public Folders" nothing displays.

How can I get this calendar visible?

right click->properties -->Permissions tab [x] 'Folder Visible'

Hi,

Those permissions are alreay set. I can view the calendar via "Public Folders" but when I try to view the calendar through shared calendars, I cannot view it.

Thanks

and the same is applied on the actual Calendar item in that folder?

Yes,

I'm the owner of the Public folder and the Calendar and I can't even view the Calendar under "Shared Calendars"

not sure I follow.
Is this your stucture:
=All Public Folders
==Shared Calendars
---Calendar

ownership should trickle down.
