When users uses a shared address book they are unable to sort or share any of the fields other than name.

we like to search by organization or our own created field, 'category'

thanks,

patrick

Looks like that is a 'feature'.

One not too elegant solution is for them to make a new address book, then select all the addresses in the shared book and 'copy to' the new blank address book. Then they could sort as they needed. They may require more than read-only rights in the shared address book.
It would be a bit of extra work but might be faster than having to visually sort out from the list.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I did end up thinking of using your solution. My only concern is updating the information. Is it true that 'synchronize' is the tool to use?

Thanks
