I have a scanner connected to one of 5 computers networked. Is there a way to access the scanner from other puters on the network? The puter with scanner runs XP th\I need to access it from a puter running Win 7.

Unless the scanner is a network scanner, then most likely no. The computer itself comes with software that can make let the computer offer file and print services. Scan services are not inherent, so unless there is some third party software installed to make this "sharable", then no.
