share fold missing hand/arm

My share folder is missing the little hand/arm around the bottom of the folder. I am using XP Pro, it was there yesterday, but not today.

Any ideas why?

Don't know why, but right click on the folder and check to be sure that it is still shared. If not, are you able to recreate the share.

This is strange my option for sharing is gone. I just have the General, Security, and Customize tab in the folder properties.

Also when I right click the folder, no option.

But others can still see and access the folder.

Does your username have admin rights to the PC? Are you logged into a domain?

If that does not help you can try these.

See if System Restore will get you back to a restore point before your problem with Explorer.

Try Safe Mode (Do you have this problem in Safe Mode?).

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.
