Hi all.
I have setup a ftp server which works using vsftp.
I am now trying to logon using ssh and 3des encryption (from a ftp client).
The encryption key comes over and the client can logon but I cannot limit the client to the home folder link in vsftp.
Has anybody got any ideas

Thanks for the help.

add this line to your vsftp config file located in /etc/vsftpd/vsftpd.conf

chroot_local_user=YES

try that and see if it works. That is what is in my FTP config file

Don't forget to restart your FTP server after you change the config file.

Sorry i seam to have miss lead you a little.
Vsftp is working alright ,when the user login in it does do a chroot and lock them in there own home folder.
It is when i logon to us sftp with ssh that i am have problem i, i cannot use ssh with vsftp.
I need some way of locking the users down to ther home account without using vsftp.

sftp and vsftp have nothing to do with each other. Google for "sftp chroot" and the second article gives a step-by-step howto.
