I have a request to add a standard Siemens Cordless home phone to our PBX as a station that can be treated as a normal internal ext, is this possible? If so how? We are using a Gs3i R11 PBX and avaya ASA R1.10.11.

You can add it as an analog 2500 set. Be sure you set tests = no on page 1 of the station form.

I hope this helps

1a2 to ip I seen it all

If you need this to have caller id then you will have to wire it off an Tn793B circuit pack and set the set type on the station form as "call-id".

I actually did this setup on one of my PBX's yesterday. I changed the analog cards to a 2793B circuit back and worked like a charm. I didnt know you had to setthe test parameter to NO. Why is that???

If test is Yes you will probably get a warning in your alarm log.

thats not the only thing. if you set test to Y you will get errors on not connected ports and you get the situation that the analog phone rings once in a while. The pbx tests the connection then. In this case you will get complains of users...

Also, I've found that if you leave tests set to "y", some phones (mine were AT&T 5.8's) will beep when the test goes out. Like a short ring, drives people nuts.

We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.

is it possible to measure call volumes to this station in either CMS or ASA? I set it up just as a station, no logins, skills or anything assigned.
