Setup/Re-enable Voicemail for EXTs

Got these 2 extensions that need to have a voicemail box for. I looked through the FAQs and got confused at this section.

To Make Incoming Calls go to Voicemail (if a vacant desk becomes occupied)
Prompt type note
> LD 11
REQ CHG
TYPE 2616
TN ## ## Enter TN (Port) number
ECHG Yes Easy Change?
ITEM FDN FDN is the "Forward if no answer" DN
7000 7000 forwards calls to Voicemail after the 4th ring

HUNT HUNT is the "Forward if busy" DN
7000 7000 forwards calls to Voicemail after the 4th ring if the phone is busy


When I get to ITEM, I put in FDN and press enter, then it just shows ITEM again. So I dont think I got anywhere.

Also, when looking up the TNs. Sometimes I seem to get multiple sets and Im not sure which is the right one. It will look like

9 0 0 8
8 0 0 0

Want to make sure I am getting the right numbers.

and 7000 may not be the right number in your switch and no, there is no default for rco.. in an 11 it's 3 unless someone changed the default

I thought the 7000 referred to the voicemail number? Because 7000 is what we dial to access it and then login.

Can you dial into your system? there is usually a modem connected to port 0. you can use any comm package like Procomm or Hyperterm. you don't need a printer and it's easier to to use Procomm.

I'm at 520 broad street, if you'd like you can stop by and ask for Doug from voicecom at ext 3740 and security will get in touch with me and we can go over the basics, I'd hate to see you get over your head and cause problems. Just go to the Atlantic street entrance. It's a freebee, that's what TTips is all about, after that you may want to ask for classes or a vendor to take care of the system. It's up to you , just offering. M-F 7-3
 


What i always do Steveload when i have a problem like this, is compare a working phone TNB with the TNB of the phone you are trying to bring up.
This won't fix your problems, but you might want to add in the CLS FBA-Call Foward Busy and MWA- Message Waiting and then add a MWK Key.

CLS FBA is for only if you want your DID calls to go to the ATT if you don't answer. I worked at a marine base that the ATT wondered why he was getting so many calls all the time. I checked all the TNB's and found 90% of the phones had FBA, I changed it to FBD and the ATT thanked me for making his life eadied.

FBA on DID will override FNA and HTA, so if you want it to go somewhwre else Don't use FBA.
 
Well, Im back to work and now I gotta find time to unscrew or replace the printer attached to the console.

Seems to be a one of a kind brand printer around here (old panasonic dot matrix.)

try SFA in CLS for Extensions and give RCO 2.

It is for External calls to get forwarde to voicemail.
