here's my problam. I got my nt4 disk stolen. I have a zipped backup of it,but when I try to make a new copy of it, nero says it is 750 mb and my disks or only 700 mb.
my setup disks on floppy do not give me the option of setting up from a harddrive. so I need to know how to modify my floppies to setup from a hardisk or a list of which files I can remove and still setup nt 4 on my computor.
can this be done.

From the CD you only really need the I386 directory to do the install and that can exist on a 2nd hard disk. Create the boot floppy diskettes and use them to start the process.

It's been a while, but I often used to do this.

Assuming that you have two harddrives C:, D:

1) copy i386 directory on d:
2) run "winnt /b /s:d:\i386" from command prompt.

You can check switches with "winnt /?"

(/s: is followed by installation files location)

I think the above is correct although my memory is a bit rusty.
