Siemens beginner here so go easy. Can anyone tell me how to setup an optiPoint WL2 professional SIP phone? I believe I'm good on the switch programming side I just need to know how to program the actual phone.
I was able to get our optiPoint WL2 professional SIP phone up and running however, the audio quality is choppy at best. We've had many of the WL2 professional HFA phones working for years here with very good audio quality. I went into our DLS Server and adjusted a couple of the WL2 SIP settings to match what we have for the WL2 HFA settings but the quality is still very choppy. Are there any settings in the DLS Server that I should be aware of for this SIP version?
Nothing specific. I'd say the WL2 now has quite an old WLAN chipset but if the HFA handsets are fine.... can't be that. If you're using the same codec and sample size as the HFA and it's on the same subnet, I can't think of an explanation for it. So you could check/compare CGWB config if you're using a different STMI card for the SIP phones but from what you've said it'll be the same, and you'll have set codecs and QoS/DSCP as you want it in the phone. WLAN sniffer may help, but problems like this are always a pain in the ass.
