Hi,

I need to route a few DID's to a RightFax server that we have connected to our switch via a Tie trunks. This server has been running off our switch for a while but it's only been used at this point to route outbound faxes which has worked fine; however, when I try to route an inbound call to it I hear dead air and after 10 to 15 seconds I get fast busy, never hear any ringing.

Below is the printout of my route, when I call the ACOD I get fast busy.

Here is the printout of my route.

Also make sure the rightfax server is set to receive the digits.

The original point and click interface was a Smith & Wesson.

Red meat is not bad for you, it is the green fuzzy meat that is bad.

Removed the TGAR, still getting a long pause then fast busy, also confirmed with our Rightfax guy that his box is setup to receive 7600 which is the DSC I setup to forward the DID to.....

Dial the DSC yourself and hit pound(#) and if you get dead air, hit a bunch of keys. (1425) so you make noise, rightfax might be listening for a connection....if it does not hear anything it hangs up.

Tried hitting a bunch of keys but still fast busy....

Maybe the guy who setup the fax server is not setup for inbound calls as tnphoneman suggested? You said outbound is ok...

you can try tracking the TN you call in on to see what is happening on the PBX.

Also print one of the tns and post if you can.

How many channels does the Right fax have setup to the PBX???

I did a trace in LD 80 and when the call hits my Fax Server channels it goes in Lockout then when I release the call the channels changes back to IDLE.

I also spoke to the RightFax guy and naturally he claims everything on his site is setup correctly...

Here is the printout of one of my ports on the Right Fax, I have 48 ports in total.

I looked at your printout and based on that I removed the TGAR from the Route and I also changed the TGAR on my Tie from 2 to 1 as my set was set to 2 so I believe that would get blocked from the switch...still same result however.

Here are the latest printouts.

Thanks for your help!

dial the acod from a phone on the switch, what happens?

Same think, dead air then fast busy....

Most likely you have a TIE trunk signaling issue. Per the programming looks like you have a T-1 with EM4, wink start, DTMF, and answer supervision.

Is the fax server set up the same?
For a test you could change STRI/STRO to imm imm and change SUPN to no. Just as a test as wink start and supervision is the prefered set up.
Also try changing the DTN (DTMF) to DIP (dial pulse) on the trk TN cls.
When testing dial the DSC code (7600?) and not the RDB ACOD.

Sorry man, forgot you don't have a Dch on this, I don't think you will have the CHTY option uless you have PRI for the RDB...

But if they channels are going into lockout till you drop the call, the server must have a log file, see if the IT guy can view it for errors, maybe that will help.

dead air and fast busy, almost like it's looking for a way to complete and then failing... hmmmm. try removing TGAR from the channels and bump up the NCOS

Change this to RRB in the RDB as the first trunk may be bad.

SRCH LIN chg to RRB

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

I think I may have figured it out, my brooktrout card is a 16 port card and I was doing my testing with ports 23 and 24 on the T1 side!!!! I'm going to change it to port 5 and I figure I should be in business...will let you know.
