I am trying to setup Windows 2003 Server in our office. The wizards are great if I want to use DHCP but that is not the case for me. Everything seems to install fine but I am having DNS issues (when I try to join the domain it cannot see it). So I was wondering if there was a good step by step instruction on how to setup a server without using the DHCP server option and using a domain name.local for the server?

Thanks in advance
Thom

As far as disabling dhcp on teh watchguard, what model is it? If its running 8.3 or above, the dhcp will not affect the vpn users as the address pool for the vpn users is set up seperately from the dhcp server part.

So, if you disable dhcp on teh watchguard and let win2k3 server do it, you should be fine as the watchguard's standard dhcp services don't hand out ip's to vpn clients.

Ok. I will give it a shot. Do I run the Netdiag on the server or on the workstation?

Thanks
Thom

Run it on both and save the outputs > log.txt will let you pipe the output to a text file.
