Hi,

Our operator just moved to 10 numbers dialing, so now when ever we have to call localy we have to add the area code 514.
Is there a way when some body dials a number by example 93356099 it automaticaly dials 95143356099 without having users always enter 514 area code?

Thank you,

yes you need to build a dmi in 86 to insert the 1514 and a new rlb, then point all your local npa's to that rlb.. if they are pointing to a rlb now that is just used for locals, you can just build the dmi/dgt and add it to your rlb

Thanks John,

My local area code 514, and other free ones are pointing to RLI 1 which has an FRL 1, and all my users have a class 4 authentication code for dialing which allows them to dial the 514. All the other 1xxx numbers have FRL 4.

Please send me the command to build the new dmi in ld86 pointing to the appropriate RLI/FRL.

Thank you for your help,

Hi,

Please let me know how to build a DMI on LD86 to add area code 514 when a 9+7digit number is dialed.

Thank you,

Please help me on this.

I want area code 514 to be automaticaly added to phone number when ever we dial 9+7digits, and not when we dial a number with area code.

Thank you,

You do not want to insert 1514, you only want to insert 514 for 10 digit dialing.

On all your NXX in LD 90, what ever RLI they use you will need to creat a DMI to insert 514.

all my area codes are defined in ld90 as NPAs

NPA 1201
RLI 4
DENY 976

SDRR DENY CODES = 1
ITEI NONE

NPA 1202
RLI 4
DENY 976

SDRR DENY CODES = 1
ITEI NONE

.....

NPA 450
RLI 1
DENY 976

SDRR DENY CODES = 1
ITEI NONE

NPA 438
RLI 1
DENY 976

SDRR DENY CODES = 1
ITEI NONE

NPA 514
RLI 1
DENY 976

SDRR DENY CODES = 1
ITEI NONE

NPA 868
RLI 1
SDRR NONE
ITEI NONE

If i create a DMI for RLI 1 to insert 514, does it mean that even if somebody dials 9450XXXXXXX it will be dialed as 9514450XXXXXXX?
Do i have to create a DMI for RLI 1 and another one for RLI 4?

Thank you,

Post RLI 1 and 4 and DMI

How do your local NXX's go out? ie RLI

To make life easy for my users I let them dial the 7 digit local and I use the DMI to insert NPA without the 1. or they can dial 1NPA and I delete the 1 for local 10 ditit dialing or the user can dial NPANXX1234 and I don't do any DMI on this.

7 digit dialing is local = NXX-1234

10 digit dialing is local = NPA-NXX-1234

11 digit dialing is LD = 1NPA-NXX-1234

They all get treated differently.

Most telco's won't except 1NPANXX1234 for a local, you must dial without the 1.

All my NXX have a RLI 1
Also local area code 514 and free area codes 438,450,868 have a RLI 1
Please tell me how to setup DMI to add NPA.
Do i have to create a DMI for each NPA, and give each NPA a different RLI?

Thank you,

Just add NPA 518 to point to RLI 1and don't do anything else. even though you haven't posted the RLI 1, 4 and DMI table so we can see, it looks like if you dial 438NXX1234 it will go to RLI 1 and justbe sent to the telco as dialed.

then on your nxx's, the local one's.. need to point at an rlb that uses that dmi...

here's the call flow.. 9 434 xxxx... 9 sends me to 90, 434 is an nxx.. that sends me to 86,, rlb Z, that inserts 1514 and puts in on my local route... you can still enter 1514 as an npa in case people do 10 digit to a local number.. that would allow them to dial 7 or 10.. i do it here to put callers on the local route if they dial the number 10 digits. for my dial plan i have to delete the 1803 for some calls and add it for others..

On ld90 all my NXX have a RLI 1, and they are all listed from 200 to 999

Because in Montreal we have 3 area codes (514, 450 and 438), that means that i have to give 514's NXXs RLI 2 and create a DMI that points to RLI 2 to insert 514, give 450's NXXs RLI 3 and create a DMI that points to RLI 3 to insert 450 and give 438's NXXs RLI 3 and create a DMI that points to RLI 3 to insert 438.

My other question is "Is it possible that one NXX can be valid on 2 or more area codes?"

Again Thank you very much for your help, you are a great team, and i've learned a lot just reading the Threads.

Sorry
438's NXXs should be RLI 4 and new DMI pointing to RLI 4 to insert 438

RLI's point to DMI's not the other way around.

if you make a NPA 514 RLI 1 it will send it out OK.

if you make a NPA 450 RLI 1 it will send it out OK.

if you make a NPA 438 RLI 1 it will send it out OK.

This is the easy way. User dials 514NXX1234 and it goes to RLI 1 and goes out the trunk without any changes.

My need is when user dials NXX1234, it automatically adds area code 514, 450, or 438 depending on something (NXX).
But my other constraint is that we may have the same NXX for different area codes.

Thank you,
