How do I set the following user permissions for our Access 2003 database?

-- admin rights for me only; read only for all others
(staff of 8 people)
-- ability for anyone in the office to open the database
while I have it open

Thanks so much for any help you can provide.

Linda

You must deal with part 2 first. Have you split the database into front end (code and forms) / back end (tables)?

Remou,

I have not split the database. I'll do that. What's next?

I used to know Access on a much deeper level back in 2000 - 01 and am just now back in a job wherein I get to work in it.

Thanks for your help.

Reading the FAQ is the next step, I think. There is a good deal to Access security, so a little backgroud will help.

You may also wish to read faq181-3893, it may be that a limited form of security such as a password protected back-end and an mde front-end will suit your needs.
