Good morning

Is there a way to change the homepage in Infoview (BOXI r2 sp2 fp2.4)?
Currently we get the standard BOBJ logo, and the heading "BusinessObjects
InfoView collects and presents BI information..." and 3 bullet points
below.
It would be preferable if users get the public folders view as their
homepage when they log in but I'm not sure if this is possible?

I have found that users can change their individual settings using the
preferences button in Infoview, but it's my intention to disable this prior
to going live with BOXI.
What I am looking for is the ability to set Infoview parameters for all
users so that I can disable the preferences button.

Hi Steve

Using the SDK you cacn change the homepage to whatever web page you like, however I do not belive you can get the navigation pane in the workspace pane - but maybe someone else on this site can share how they did it....

There are very few global preferences that you can set - but you can "hide" the preferences button to take the functionality away from the users.

I have found (and we have 4000 users) that the preferences option is one that users can cope with - especially to allow more than 10 objects to appear on a page and so they can set the Infoview desktop to whichever folder they usually navigate to.

I hope this helps

If you have purchased Performance Management, on the release media under BOEXIR2\win32\EPM\tools\unsupported is a utility called prefscopyutil.jar

It is accompanied by a readme that explains how you can use this utility to copy preferences from one user to another.

If you don't have Performance Management, you could read this post at an alternate BOE forum which appears to have had success copying preferences using a script

Thx Groggle

We have the Premium version, so will performance management be included with that or is it a chargeable extra?

Its not included with Premium. It's an extra you'd need to purchase.

I'll take a look at that link then thanks
