If you've ever worked on a 2K then you know the value of keyboard shortcuts.

e.g. entering 100's of ARS entries that are basically identical (As I need to do, possibly 1000's)
Press 1 key and the keyboard will send "CTRL-J Insert ^M"
Enter unique string of digits
Press another key to send "TAB 0 TAB List TAB 31 ^M"

Normally this function is built into whatever app I'm using to connect to the system. I am limited by what the customer provides on their virtual server so I have PuTTy. No hotkeys.

I understand from Google that there are ways to create Key to Text hotkeys natively in Windows 11 but I can't figure that out.

I've also been pointed to a Microsoft App called Powertoys (already installed on the Server)

With Powertoys, I've successfully remapped my "." key to be the Numpad "." key to allow the search option on the 2K

I'm failing completely with text substitution.

Has anyone tried any of this here?

It's been about a decade, but I was able to use AutoHotKey with puTTY when I needed to make changes to several hundred 7100MAP units at a time.

Thanks Lundah, I think I've resolved my issue with Powertoys. The version on my Company laptop is too old. I just downloaded Powertoys to my personal PC and the method is obvious and easy(ish)

Thanks
