Hi guys,
I've run into a rather frusterating situation. I have very limited resources in my department so when asked to buy 20 barcode scanners for our retail locations I had to go the used route.
Unfortuantly the used route got me barcode scanners from the late 90's- which is fine but there is no documentation.
I have a symbol L56004-1015 (could be LS6004 cant read to well haha) with an RS-232 scanner. I figured this would be an easy to setup- just plug in the cable to matching port and I expected it to light up. Nice dice I noticed there is a power input into the RS-232 cable. I asked the guy I bought them from and he said he didnt have an power adapter he just plugged them in. Anyone have any information what I am doing wrong? do i need a power adapter? Do i need a synapse device?
Argh!!!
I attached a picture of the scanners.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt
