I have a client that wants to install spectralink phones on their 3300. They want to use a sonicpoint access point from sonicwall. I told them it is not supported but they purchased it anyway. My question is has anyone had any luck configuring the spectralink phones and svp server to work with the sonicwall AP?

Thanks in advance

To quote from the manual, "Spectralink requires the use of an access point listed in this table"

What part of "not supported" is the customer having trouble with?

Assuming you're able to get it working, "not supported" still means precisely that. If they have problems they are not going to be able to get vendor support and then just who do you think they're going to blame?

To cover my backside I would insist the customer sign a waiver of recourse, acknowledging that they have been advised that the requested configuration is unsupported and not recommended and may have unexpected, undesirable or unacceptable performance, possibly resulting in the impairment of their voice or data network or both.

I know this is an old thread but just wanted to add my 2 cents.

I've got a mitel 3300 with 10 spectralink phones in use for the past year, using the SYMBOL 5000 switch and AP100's. My vender didn't tell me it wouln't work so i went ahead a did it anyway. I have not had a single problem with it since installation. My vender, has been a problem, but the phones haven't.
