I'm wondering how hard is it to setup a SIP trunk on IP Office with 42 IP Phones.

As hard as it is with 10 or 100 IP phones..

Which provider?
Which software version of IP Office?
SBC available?

Depends more on the provider and network setup than the amount of users. Also how your network and IPO skills are play a big part :)

I know IP Office pretty well, just never setup SIP on it and my company is now selling SIP our selves. I was thinking of going through the WAN port. Just wanted to know if any one had major trouble with IP phones using SIP. I've been putting in HOSTED phones as well. @hairlesssupportmonkey thanks for your support..... and its spelled wreck.

... actually its spelt "spelt" but that quibbling about the English language... :)

Meanwhile it's worthwhile looking at the IP Office Application notes (on the IP Office Knowledge Base and Avaya's DevConnect website). There may be already be one for your preferred SIP provider. Even if not, reading a few will give you the gist of what fields do what. They also include template files that you can import into an offline config to then study.

SIP line configuration appears complex as each line provider want something different so IP Office has unfortunately acquired settings left right and center and its not clear which ones you need. So it seriously helps if you can find a provider that already supports IP Office sites.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

I can give you one tip.

DO NOT put the IPO to the internet.

If everything is done correctly, using IPO IP Phones with H.323 software and calling over SIP trunks is fine. As pointed out above, pay very careful attention to protecting your IPO from remote access/hacking.

Sorry sizbut it's spelt both ways. We've had this out before.

To quote me in thread940-1710669

"Spelt and spelled runs both ways, depending on system locale and memory card language files uploaded. Either is acceptable.
Whilst the use of spelt has been in decline since the '70s, the use of spelled has marched on as an upward trend, particularly since the late '90s.
CONCLUSION: The lunatics are taking over the asylum."
