Can a 2420 set be used as a ring down unit? If so, how would that be programmed in the system?

Thanks

How would the station be used? Will it be a station that you pick up and it rings out to another destination or will it be a standard station that has an appearance for a ringdown?

Generally, ring-down lines (Stations that can only call one destination, and it's dialed when the line is picked up) are created from analog lines. It's kind of a waste to put in a multi line station for a ring-down.

If you're going to put a button on a multi line station that only calls one destination, it would be simpler to use an autodial button.

However, you might try removing all of the call appearances of the 2420, and putting in a bridged appearance of an analog station that is configured as a ring-down. You'd put in a "hot line" destination of one of the abbreviated dialing list members.

Carpe dialem! (Seize the line!)

^^That's why I asked what type of function that the ring down would serve. Until we have an answer there are still two routes that can be taken.

Just create the line as a Personal CO trunk instead of a regular trunk group and then assign the personal CO line to what ever stations you want. Digital or analog, just assign it to a button and you're good to go.

Thanks all for the replies. I was about the set this up by using abrd-appr and removing call-apprs from the 2420
