Setting up on LAN

Can someone tell me how to setup the IP address for the phone sustem? Do i have to use a r232? Can i connect a laptop to the partner system and set it up that way? The Documentation doesnt really give any information. Thanks!

If your talking about an ACS system, no IP address is involved. Only the unified messaging uses LAN.
