To reconfigure a Lotus Notes client for a new user use the following procedure:
1. Copy the new users ID file into the c:\lotus\notes\data directory
2. Start Lotus Notes
3. When prompted for password, click cancel
4. A box asking for the location of an alternative ID file will appear. Enter the path to the new ID file
5. Enter the password
6. Select File | Preferences | Location menu option to call up the Office (Network) location preferences.
7. Change the Internet mail address name to reflect the new user
8. On the mail tab, change the mail file to be the new users mail file
9. On the advanced tab, enter the full path to the user ID file (i.e. c:\lotus\notes\data\blahb.id) in the “User ID to switch to” option.
10. Save and close the location preferences
11. Open the new users database file using the File | Database | Open menu option
12. Select the address book
13. Select the File | Database | Properties menu option. Enter the new users name in the “Title” field.
14. Exit Lotus Notes.
Notes should now be configured correctly for the new user.
